Hallway of fate

The soft clack of elegant shoes can be heard
Approaching the door of ages
Walking down this hallway of fate
Many a feet have traveled down this narrow pathway
A lonely and despairing task, don't you think?
Reader if you do not wish to suffer the same agony
I suggest you stop reading, for it only gets worse
You see this person here is a special case, as good as they can get
A perky one was he, before he came down this fated path
But then tragedy struck him in the heart, why multiple times I would say
Oh look, here he comes, into view of that aged door.
His face sunken, body slouched, hair unkempt, oh what a mess
His physical appearance must be an almost perfect mirror image of the
Devastation on his heart. Miserable, melancholy, angered, distressed, hurt, longing, loving.
All of these emotions running inside his poor poor heart.
And so, some round here would say his fate is sealed
A lifetime of misery can be seen ahead of him.
But wait! A light glimmers off to the side of the hallway, just before that vile door
Hope has risen in this man, and he opens a gateway and changes his destiny
Everlasting happiness, instead of godforsaken misery.
